During the mounting process, the identification of mounting parts and components on the one hand to control the type-appropriate mounting and on the other hand to identify of customizable mounting parts that undergo part tracking, is a typical machine vision challenge in the automotive industry. Safety-relevant or technologically sensitive components are stored along with their manufacturing data. Thanks to this, an evaluation of the long term behaviour of components in field tests can be executed precisely with regard to lots and parts, for instance.
